CURATORIAL WORK
2021-ongoing       Curator, Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow

I am dedicated to exploring possible ways of being in study together that reflect a focus of communing and gathering, supporting connections between artistic production and social change.

Confluence, is a research and residency programme bringing artists, curators and researchers to engage in conversation and share knowledge around water, intertwining different territories across seas; specifically around coastal and fluvial ecologies in Scotland, Morocco, and beyond.

2018-2019     Committee Member at Transmission Gallery, Glasgow

I was part of the committee at Transmission Gallery, an artist-run space in Glasgow, made up of artists and programmers:  Alberta Whittle, Adam Benmakhlouf, Katherine Liu, Myriam Mouflih and Thulani Rachia

Our curatorial focus ‘From isolation to empathy’ looked at programming that gestured towards reparatory justice and ways to make the space a ‘house of multiple occupancy’ that centred around community and mutual aid.

The programme created space for experiences of local communities of Black, Minority Ethnic and working-class backgrounds in Scotland and encouraged practices that were community-led. We expanded our local community engagement to explore practices of collective care within institutional structures.
